Robert J. Kuhl, 35, of 314 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening at
Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, after a brief illness. Earlier he suffered a
cerebral hemorrhage at Beacon Lunch restaurant at 316 N. Eighth St., where he
was employed.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Kuhl was born July 24, 1925, at Manitowoc, son of Charles and Alma Lohse
Kuhl of Manitowoc. He was educated at Manitowoc Public Schools and was graduated
from Lincoln High School in 1943. He served in the European Theater of Operations
during World War II from Oct. 19, 1943, until his discharge Nov. 6, 1945, as a
private first class. He was in headquarters company of the Second Battalion in
the 119th Infantry of the U.S. Army.
Since World War II, he had been working with his brother at the restaurant on
Eighth Street.
Surviving are his parents; two brothers, Charles Jr. of Manitowoc and William of
Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Donald Franz of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, and Elaine at home
and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday until the time of services.
Graveside military rites will be by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 659 of Manitowoc.
