Mrs. Charles Kukral Sr., 91, of 1901 Michigan Ave., Manitowoc, died Tuesday at
Holy Family Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church chapel,
Manitowoc. The Rev. George Knudson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Kukral, the former Mary Puls, was born Jan. 5, 1877, in the Town of Kossuth,
daughter of the late August and Mary De Pons Puls. She was married to Mr. Kukral
Nov. 28, 1900, at Rockwood, and the couple established residence at Manitowoc. In
1960, they observed their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple operated a grocery
store at the corner of N. 19th Street and Michigan Avenue from 1908 until 1935.
She was a member of the Pythian Sisters, Women’s Relief Corps and First Lutheran
Churchwomen. Mr. Kukral died in 1962.
Survivors include three sons, Herbert of Gary, Ind., Allan of Sarasota, Fla., and
Charles Jr. of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred Boeder and Miss Ruth Kukral
of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. R. W. Waltman of Norwalk, Calif.; 11 grandchildren
and 18 greatgrandchildren.
Friends may call at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, until 11 a.m. Thursday and
at the chapel until time of service.
