Edward J. Kunish, 68, of 911 Summit St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 23, at the Intensive Care Unit of Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Pffeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Justin Pierce and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Kunish was born Jan. 15, 1914, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Ella Klinkner Kunish. He resided at Manitowoc all of his life, attended St. Boniface Parochial School and was graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1931. He married Ruth Meyers in 1939 at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death Feb. 19, 1960. He then married Helen Sepnieski Grotbeck May 10, 1968. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Kunish owned and operated Ed's Candy Service for many years and was also associated with the Manitowoc office of the Milwaukee Journal for 12 years.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; three sons and two daughters-in-law, John and Shirley Kunish of Lakewood, N.J., James and Nancy Kunish of Kiel, and Gregory Grotbeck of Manitowoc; three daughters and a son-in-law, Janice and Daniel Klein and Susan Grotbeck of Manitowoc, and Kathryn Grotbeck of Boulder, Colo., and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 7 p.m. tl 9 p.m. Thursday where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. by Deacon Paul Kieffer.
