Helen T. Kunish, age 65, who has been residing at the Regency House, 929 S.
31st St., Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, March 14, 1996, at the Appleton
Medical Center.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 1996, at the St.
Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Carl Meulemans will officiate and
burial of her ashes will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Helen Sepnieski July 30, 1930, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late
Frank and Ellen Lynch Sepnieski. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and
a lifelong Manitowoc resident. She had been employed as a nurse by Dr. George
Simon for a period of 18 years and later worked at the Holiday House with
handicapped adults until her retirement. Her first husband, Alf Grotbeck,
preceded her in death. She married Edward J. Kunish May 10, 1968, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death November 23, 1982. Helen
was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Manitowoc.
Survivors include her children, Kathy Grotbeck Small and husband, Jeff of Denver,
Colo., Sue Grotbeck, Manitowoc, Greg Grotbeck and wife, Luanne of Adrian, Mich,
Jan Kunish Klein and husband, Dan of Appleton, Jim Kunish and wife, Nanc of Kiel,
and John Kunish and wife, Shirley of Spring Lake, N.J.; one sister, Nora Duben,
Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Frank Sepnieski, Manitowoc, Patrick Sepnieski,
New Hosltien (sic). Nano was the grandmother of eight grandchildren. One brother,
Allen Sepnieski preceded her in death.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from
4-7 p.m. on Monday.
A Memorial fund will be established in Helen's memory for the Chemical Dependency
Unit at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
