MATHEW KUNISH TO FINAL REST
Was a Resident of the City of Manitowoc for Forty Years
Mathew Kunish, for more than 40 years a resident of Manitowoc and for nearly
sixty years a resident of the county, passed away at his home at 1217 South
Tenth street after an illness of two months. He was one of the oldest active
tailors in the county.
Settled at Zander
Mr. Kunish was born in Bohemia February 5, seventy-five years ago and came to
this country, settling in Zanders, this county, at the age of 17. He worked at
his trade there until 35 years ago when he removed to this city where at various
times he worked in the employ of the O. Torrison Co., A.J. Funta and A. H. Pohl.
During his declining years he was associated with his son, Emil, working steadily
until two months ago when poor health made necessary his retirement.
Surviving his his widow, who was Mary Kirch before their marriage 46 years ago
and two sons, Frank and Emil of this city, and a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Posvic,
also of this city. Five grandchildren remain to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon from the home at 2 o’clock, the
Rev. Teply of Melnik officiating and burial will take place at Evergreen.
