Mrs. Charles Kunz, 90, died Friday morning at Maplecrest Sanitorium, Whitelaw,
where she had been the past 10 years.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Manitowoc,
with the Rev. Vernon Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Bernice Gustaveson was born April 23, 1870, at Manitowoc Rapids,
daughter of the late Capt. Charles and Amber Stevenson Gustaveson. She was
married to Charles Kunz in September of 1893. The couple celebrated the golden
anniversary of the wedding in 1943.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Ladies Society of the church and
American Legion Auxiliary of Drews-Bleser Post. Her husband died in 1944.
Surviving are two sons, Lester of Minneapolis and Franklin of Manitowoc and three
grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were two sons,
four sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 2 p.m. Sunday until 11
a.m. Monday when the casket will be removed to the church where the body will lie
in state until the hour of service.
