George La Breche, 85, of 512 S. 27th St., Manitowoc, died Friday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Clement Kern officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. LaBreche was born March 16, 1878, at Wisconsin Rapids, son of the late James and Marie Pokett LaBreche. He married Bessie Albee Nov. 5, 1906, at Wisconsin Rapids. The couple lived there two years and then came to Manitowoc where LaBreche operated a paint store, was a painter and a sign writer. He also worked for a time with gas installation service. He operated a paint store for 36 years up to his retirement in 1944. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of his church.
Among survivors are his wife and a number of niece and nephews.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home (State Street Entrance) where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. .Memorials may be made to the Holy Name Society of the church.
