Carl E. Ladwig, 84, of 1009 N. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Friday
afternoon at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Glenn Unke will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc. The American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 will conduct military
graveside services.
Mr. Ladwig was born Oct. 25, 1892, at Manitowoc, son of the late Henry and Helen
Broker Ladwig. He attended Manitowoc area schools. He married Lillian Weiss, who
preceded him in death in 1947. In May of 1953 he married Meta Minzlaff at
Menominee, Mich. He worked for many years as a field agent at Lakeside Packing
Company, Manitowoc. Later he worked for the city of Manitowoc as foreman at
Lincoln Park. He retired at the age of 65.
He was a member of the American Legion Drews-Bleser Post. No. 88, and of the
Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was a World War I veteran, serving
overseas with Corps.
Survivors include his wife, and five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Eilen and Mrs. Edwin
(Mildred) Rusch, of Manitowoc, Mrs. Helen Carefoot, of California, Mrs. Lyle
(Alga) Porter, of Fort Atkinson, and Mrs. Alfred (Ann) Green, of Casco. Three
brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday.
