Herman C. Ladwig, 56, of 950 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday afternoon
at Veterans' Hospital, Wood, Wis. He had been ill the past year. Funeral
services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Immanuel Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Theophil Uetzman officiating. Burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, Military rights will be performed by the Drews-Bleser
post, American Legion.
Born Oct. 27, 1896, in Manitowoc, the deceased followed the carpenter trade and
was employed by the Eisner Construction Company until 1933. He became custodian
at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School, Manitowoc, and later was employed in the
same capacity at Mckinley School.
Ladwig served in World War I and was a member of the Manitowoc Legion post. He
married the former Elsie Urban at Menominee, Mich, Sept. 10, 1923. She survives
with two sons, Kenneth and Robert; two brothers, Carl and William of Manitowoc;
five sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Allen and Mrs. Ed Rusch of Manitowoc; Mrs. Lyle Porter
of Evansville Wis., Mrs. Alfred Green of Cedar Falls, Ia., and Mrs. John
Carefoot of Palo Alto, Calif., and a grandchild. Friends may call at the
Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc from 3 p.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. Wednesday
when the casket will be moved to the church. - Manitowoc Herald Times Monday
