MRS. LARSEN PASSES AWAY
Lived Here 44 Years; Funeral Rites Thursday
Mrs. Sophie Larsen, 92, a resident of Manitowoc for 44 years, died early today
at the home, 618 North Fifth street, where she resided with her daughter, Miss
Johanna Larsen
Mrs. Larsen was injured in a fall in the home a week ago Friday and a few days
ago sustained a stroke which caused her death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the home and at two
o’clock from the St. Paul’s Lutheran church. Interment will be in Evergreen.
Born in Norway
Mrs. Larsen, whose maiden name was Sophie Johnson, was born in Norway in 1943.
She married Martin Larsen who lost his life while engaged in sailing. Forty-four
years ago Mrs. Larsen and her daughter left Norway for America and located in
this city.
Mrs. Larsen was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran church. The daughter,
Johanna, is the only survivor.
