FRED J. LEE

Fred J. Lee, 75, of 1024 N. 12th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday at his home
following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born Jan. 14, 1887, at Martinsville, Ind., son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Jay Lee. He moved to Madison in 1908 and came to Manitowoc in 1933. He
became manager of the Globe Laundry in 1934 and served in that position until
his retirement in 1960. He married Ida D. Johnson April 30, 1908, at Madison.
His first wife died in 1948 and in September of 1950 he married Kathryn Dupuis.
He was past president of the State Laundry Owners Assn. and of the Manitowoc
Optimist Club and was a former deacon in his church.
Among survivors are his wife; two sons, Robert J. of Manitowoc, Fred J. of
Green Bay and one step-son, Mart Dupuis of Whittier, Calif.; five step-daughters,
Mrs. Bernard Simono of Two Rivers, Mrs. Robert J. Lee, Mrs. Robert Deering and
Mrs. Kermit Bennett of Manitowoc and Mrs. Robert Wellsfry of Cedarberg, Wis.;
16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, until 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be moved to the
church where the body will lie in state until time of services.
