J.D. Lehmkuhl, father of J.G. Lehmkuhl, of this city, died on Tuesday
morning of this week, aged 77 years. He was born in Bremen and came
to Newton in 1848.
He had never been sick before in his life until last September after
the death of one of his sons. He was one of the early settlers of
Newton, a successful man and a good citizen. He resided in Manitowoc
for some years past.
