RICHARD CORTLAND LENEAU

Richard C. Leneau, age 66, of 620 S. 30th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon,
May 2, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 17, 1939, in Manitowoc, son of the late Cortland and Marcella
(Strong) Leneau. Richard was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, class
of 1957. On Dec. 16, 1961, he married the former Anne Woerfel at First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Some of Richard's employers included:
The Manitowoc Company, Small Engine Service and Mirro. Richard was in sports
including playing baseball/softball for 50 years. In 1979, he and Ray Ligman
won the Wisconsin Doubles Scratch & Handicap Division of the state bowling
tournament. Richard was inducted into the Manitowoc Bowling Association Hall
of Fame in May of 1999. He was a member of the Small Engine Athletic Association
which raised money for youth sports through sockhops. One of Richard's favorite
hobbies was collecting Lionel trains. He also enjoyed spending time with his
grandchildren, ""my little people."" Richard was a member of Bethany Evangelical
Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Leneau, Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-in-law,
Mark and Jennifer Leneau, Manitowoc; Rick and Kimberly Leneau, Town of Menasha;
three grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda Leneau, Jacob Leneau; a sister and brother-
in-law, Mardell and Paul Stangel; a brother-in-law, John Woerfel; and three nieces,
Sandra (Steve) Narten, Linda (J.J.) Horbeck and Terry (Ray) Kunesh, all of
Manitowoc. Other relatives and friends also survive.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, until the time of the memorial
service at 11 a.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6,
2006, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the
memorial service will be Pastor Robert Kujawski with burial of the cremated
remains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the
family with funeral arrangements.
