MRS. L. LENSING, 76, PASSES AWAY LAST NIGHT AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Louisa Lensing, widow of the late John Lensing, who has been a resident of
the city for the past twenty-seven years passed away last night at the hospital,
after a lingering illness. She was 76 years of age having been born in Germany
May 23, 1853. She came to America with her parents when a child, and located on
a farm near Mishicot. She was married in 1886 to John Lensing at Montpelier,
Kewaunee county here they located on a farm. Her husband was killed in an accident
on the farm when struck by a falling tree. She then removed to Mishicot to reside
with her brother, Fred, Witte. She removed here in 1903 to reside.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Spender Hansen of this city, and one brother,
Fred Witte of Mishicot. There are also six grandchildren. Since moving to the city
she made her home with her daughter at 1835 New York avenue. The funeral will be
held Thursday afternoon from the Hansen home at 1:30 and at 2:00 o'clock from the
St. Paul's Lutheran church, Rev. R. B. Walden officiating. Burial will be at
Evergreen.
