Mrs. Joseph J. Lenz, 67, of 264 Davis St., Two Rivers, a former Sheboygan County resident, died Monday at Manitowoc Memorial Hospital, after a lingering illness. The former Margaret Kretsch was born Dec. 2, 1899 in Manitowoc County, a daughter of the late Mathias and Katherine Schwallenberg Kretsch. In September of 1919 she was married to Joseph Lenz at Sheboygan. The couple lived in the Plymouth area until 1938 when they moved to Manitowoc. In 1948 they moved to Two Rivers.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Oscar (Dolores) Ulness, Valders; a son, Donald, Delavan; five sisters, Mrs. Andrew Diels of Plymouth, Mrs. Henry Bushman of Manitowoc, Mrs. Philip Maurer Sr. of Kiel, Mrs. Robert Kieckhaefer of Bremerton, Wash., and Mrs. Arthur Melhron, Albany, Ore.; two brothers, Hubert and Daniel, both of Manitowoc and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, with the Rev. Paul H. Blaufuss, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ, Manitowoc, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 pm today until the time of service.
