DEATH OF MRS. FRED LOHE TODAY IS A GREAT SHOCK
Stricken Suddenly at her Home This Morning She Survives But a Short Time
Death came to Mrs. Fred Lohe suddenly and unexpectedly at her home
on Washington street this morning and she passed away within a few
minutes of an attack which affected her heart. News of the demise of
Mrs. Lohe was a great shock to the community and caused widespread
sorrow. Although Mrs. Lohe had not been in the best of health for
some time past, her condition had not been considered serious and she
was able to be about as usual. With friends she enjoyed an automobile
drive last evening and was in her apparent health and spirits at that
time. This morning, however, she complained of being ill and a short
time later suffered the fatal attack.
Mrs. Lohe, nee Catherine Hoyer, was born in this city on Jan. 6, 1863,
and had always made her home here. She was married to Mr. Lohe in 1892
and is survived by her husband and two children, Fred, Jr., who is at
Newport, R.I., in the service of the government, and Miss Irene, who
is at home. Three brothers, Charles and Albert Hoyer of this city and
Edward Hoyer of Chicago also survive. The late Mrs. D.B (or S?) Bleser
was a sister.
Funeral arrangements have not been made awaiting word from the son at
Newport and other relatives.
