Mrs. Henry Martens, 84 (above), lifelong resident of the city and county, died
this afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Mac Farlane, of 430
North Fifth street. She had been in failing health since the holidays.
Born Minnie Haupt in Manitowoc Rapids in 1862, she was married to Henry Martens
62 years ago. They located in this city where Mr. Martens operated a grocery
store on Washington street and later was a salesman for Milwaukee wholesale
houses. He died 10 years ago since which time she had made her home with her
daughter.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Mac Farlane of this city and Mrs. Reese
Treasure of Chicago; a son, Herman, of St. Paul; a brother, Henry, of Milwaukee,
and a sister, Mrs. Frank Wendler, of Chicago.
Funeral plans will be announced Monday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Martens, 84, who died Saturday afternoon at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. George MacFarlane, of 430 North Fifth street, will
be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer funeral home. The Rev. Paul Blaufuss
will officiate and interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home until the hour of services.
