Clarence Matte, 66, of 1234? S. 17th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday at home
of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Methodist Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. D. T. Stannard will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Matte was born Feb. 15, 1902, at Wausau, son of the late Joseph and Emma
Pietscher Matte, and came to Manitowoc in 1921. He worked at Mirro Aluminum
Co. 21 years and for Wisconsin Public Service Corp. 25 years, retiring in 1967.
He was a member of the WPS Men's Club.
He married Alma Heise Nov. 25, 1925, at Manitowoc, and she survives with six
sons, LeRoy, Lloyd, Gene and bruce of Manitwoc, M-Sgt. Meryl of Edwards, Calif.;
and Gy-Sgt. Kenneth of Costa Mesia, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. James (Lois)
MacDonald and Miss Darlene of Manitowoc and Mrs. Allen (Pat) Schwoerer of
Rochester, Minn.; three brothers, Fred of Shawano and Herbert and Walter of
Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Bashaw and Mrs. Elmer Alberts of Manitowoc;
and 17 grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m.
Friday until Saturday noon and at the church until time of service.
