Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Matte, 78, resident of Manitowoc for 33 years, died Saturday afternoon at the Shady Lane Home, following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Leschke Funeral Home,Manitowoc. The Rev. Allen McCaul will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

She was born Emma Elizabeth Pietscher in Germany in 1875 and came to this country when a child.

She was married to Joseph Matte in 1893 and they located in Manitowoc in 1920.

She was a member of the Manitou Auxiliary.

Her husband died five years ago.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Bashaw and Mrs. Eleanor Alberts of Manitowoc, Mrs. Florene Wallen of Seattle, Wash.; five sons, Herbert, Clarence, Walter and Louis of Manitowoc, Frederick of Menasha; sister, Mrs. Bertha Sattler of Wausau; 38 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of services.
