EDWARD J. MAU (d. 2000)

Edward J. Mau, age 100, formerly of N2280 Cleghorn Rd., Waupaca and Manitowoc,
died Sunday, May 14, 2000 at Bethany Home in Waupaca where he had been a
resident.
Memorial Services will be held at Bethany Home Chapel on Saturday, May 20, at
10:30 a.m. with Reverend Jonathan Sachs, officiating. Burial took place in the
Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
Edward was born on March 13, 1900 in Kaukauna, Wis., son of the late John L.
and Lena (Nickles) Mau. In 1923 he moved to Manitowoc to work at the Manitowoc
Shipbuilding Co. He was then associated with the East Wisconsin Trustee Co.,
as an insurance agent and an investment broker. On January 2, 1926 he married
Loretta Mae Tully, a teacher in the Manitowoc Public School System. After
retirement in 1972, they resided on Dake Lake on the Chain O'Lakes in Waupaca.
In Manitowoc, Ed was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the
Lions Club, Lodge #65 and was chairman of the United Way Campaign.
Ed is survived by his wife of 74 years, Loretta; his daughter and son-in-law,
Marilyn and Bob Olson, Green Bay and Waupaca; his grandchildren, Julie (Dan)
Thompson, Neenah, and their children, Meredith and Emily Thompson and Todd
(Kerri) Olson, Wausau. He is also survived by a brother, John Mau, Kaukauna
and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death
by one son, Edward T. Mau in 1937; and one grandson, Gregg R. Olson in 1974; two
brothers and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Home, Waupaca.
The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.

There's no fun in merely doing things that anyone can do...
But there's some satisfaction and it's mighty sweet to take,
