JAMES MAUER

James A. Mauer, age 71, of North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center,
Manitowoc, formerly of 1225 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday, December 24,
1998, at the Center.
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 1998, at
First German Ev. Lutheran Church. Pastor Bruce Bitter will officiate. Cremation
will have taken place with burial of the cremains at Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
He was born March 14, 1927, in Manitowoc, son of the late Anton and Anna Prokash
Mauer. He attended the Manitowoc Public School System. Jim had been employed as
a baker for the Frieder Bakery here in Manitowoc for many years and later he was
employed at the Manitowoc County Court House until his retirement. He married
JoAnne D. Meyer on October 4, 1958, in Manitowoc. He is a member of First German
Ev. Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife JoAnne; one daughter, Kristine A. Mauer, Manitowoc;
one brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Arlene Mauer, Manitowoc; one sister,
Hazel Pozorski, Whitelaw; his father-in-law, Roland Meyer, Manitowoc; nieces,
nephews, along with other relatives and friends also survive.
Friends may call at First German Ev. Lutheran church on Thursday from 10 a.m.
until the time of service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests
memorials to First German Ev. Lutheran Church.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assiting the family
with funeral arrangements.
Jim was an imaginative man who brought joy and wonder to many children and adults.
He had a kind and compassionate soul that he extended to all. Nine "children at
heart" will miss him, but not nearly as much at Christmas. Kris, Rob, Mary, Curt,
Marlene, Michelle, Lynn, Patricia and John.
