PAULINE A. (SAMPE) MAXFELDT
Mrs. George (Pauline A.) Maxfeldt, 81, of 844 N. 15th St., Manitowoc, died
unexpectedly Monday afternoon, March 4, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church. The Rev.
George Knudson will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mrs. Maxfeldt was born March 5, 1903, in Calumet County, Wis., daughter of the
late Gustav C. and Emma Reichardt Sampe. She grew up and was educated at Colby,
Wis., moving with her family to Manitowoc in 1923, where she had been a resident
since that time. Prior to her marriage she worked at Schuette Brothers Department
Store and later years she worked part time for Shulanders Flowers and Thought Of
You Gift Shop. She was married to George O. Maxfeldt, July 16, 1927, at Manitowoc,
Wis. He preceded her in death June 27, 1963. Mrs. Maxfeldt was a member of First
Lutheran Church, First Lutheran Church Women, Naomi Circle of the Chrch and the
Church Altar Guild, Manitowoc Lion Auxiliary and Manitowoc Elks Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John and Eunice Maxfeldt of Oak Creek,
Wis.; a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Leonard Koch of Manitowoc; a sister,
Anita Sampe of Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Steven Koch, Kristine Beaupre, Lisa
Ruland, Julie Koch, Sherri Maxfeldt and William Maxfeldt; a great granddaughter,
Marcie Ruland and three sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by a daughter
at birth and two brothers.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until 11 a.m. and then at the church from
noon until the time of services. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church.
