Mrs. F. Clinton McCarthy, 57, of 3041 N. Parnell Ave., Shorewood, died at a
Milwaukee hospital Wednesday of a heart ailment. The former Marion O'Donnell
of Manitowoc, she had been in failing health for several years.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the F??rick Chapel, 30?5
E. Capital Dr., Milwaukee and at 10 a.m. at St. Robert Church, Shorewood.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, where graveside services
will be conducted between 1-1:30 p.m.
Mrs. McCarthy was born Dec. 25, 189?, at Eland, Wis., daughter of the late
Michael and Ellen Collins O'Donnell. She came to Manitowoc as a young girl
when her father, a station agent for the North Western Railroad, was trans-
ferred here and attended local schools, graduating from Manitowoc High
School.She was graduated from Milwaukee State Teachers College and attended
Columbia University following which she taught in Manitowoc schools. In the
late 1920's she moved to Milwaukee where she taught for about 20 years in
the Shorewood school system. In November of 1940 she was married to Atty F.
Clinton McCarthy of Milwaukee. She was a member of the St. Anne Society of
St. Robert Catholic Church, Shorewood.
Survivors include her husband; daughter Margaret Ann McCarthy, and two step-
daughters, Mrs. Jeanne Brill and Mrs. Marueen(sic) Quinleven Jr., of Milwaukee;
a sister, Florence E. O'Donnell of Shorewood; brothers (can't read) and a
niece Mary Ellen Koebke of Manitowoc.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the St. Ann
Society and the Altar Society will hold a vigil at 8 p.m.
