Mrs. Edward (Helen E.) McCarty, 74, a resident of Manitowoc Health Care Center, formerly of 721 North 6th Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning, August 1, at the center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. William Zimmer will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. McCarty was born March 1, 1910, at Two Rivers, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Levanetz Grimmer. Mrs. McCarty grew up and was educated in Two Rivers and moved to Manitowoc in 1936. She married Edward D. McCarty on September 12, 1933, at Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death November 12, 1966. Mrs. McCarty was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Claudia McCarthy of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and Michael and Barbara McCarty of Two Rivers, Wisconsin; a daughter, Maureen McCarthy of Manitowoc, Wisconsin; a brother, Harold Grimmer of Two Rivers; two sisters, Carolyn Bohne of Two Rivers and Eunice Conley of Two Rivers and three grandchildren, Quinn, Timothy and Debbie. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen and a grandson.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday evening. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 p.m. led by Rev. William Zimmer.
