Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Parkside Funeral Home and 10 a.m.
at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will
be celebrated by the Rev. Daniel Felton and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mrs. McConnell, nee Ella Schoemberger, was born July 14, 1905, at Gresham, daughter
of the late Edward and Mary Simmet Schoemberger. She was married to William R.
McConnell Nov. 12, 1930, at Gresham. He preceded her in death in 1974. She was a
member of Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary, Holy Innocents Catholic Church,
Christian Mothers Altar Society of the church and was active with Manitowoc Senior
Citizens and St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Survivors include a son, Robert McConnell of Manitowoc; four daughters and three
sons-in-law, Kathleen and William Anhalt of Manitowoc, Nancy and William Humm of
Omaha, Neb., Mrs. Mary Ellen Crawford of Milwaukee and Ann and Thomas Schoening of
Appleton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Margaret Schoemberger of
Gresham, Ted and Gladys Schoemberger of Tigerton and Joseph and Ethel Schoemberger
of Minneapolis, Minn.; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mrs. Mary Knoble of
Pickerel, Wis., Kate and Ivan Brunner and Mrs. Theresa Cherveny of Leapolis, Wis.,
and Irene and George Beil of Park Ridge, Ill.; 17 grandchildren, three great
grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A brother, Raymond
Schoemberger, preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. A prayer service
will be at 8 p.m. led by Deacon Don Gigure.
