Funeral services for Dr. Viola B. McCully, 63, D.D.S. of 2026 Lexington Dr.,
Manitowoc, who died Tuesday at home, will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Pfeffer
Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The
Rev. E. A. Radey will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Dr. McCully, the former Viola B. Bast, was born Jan. 3, 1903, at Manitowoc,
daughter of the late Dr. Magnus and Mary Schilling Bast. She was graduated from
Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, and attended Lawrence University, Appleton, and
Marquette University School of Dentistry, Milwaukee, graduating in 1926. She had
been following her vocation, being associated with Dr. Roy Fronk at Two Rivers.
She was married to Dr. G. J. McCully July 19, 1930 at Sacred Heart Church,
Manitowoc, and he preceded her in death April 9, 1961. Mrs. McCully was a member
of the Wisconsin and Manitowoc County Dental societies, Holy Family Hospital Guild
and the Christian Mothers Altar Society of Holy Innocents.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. M.J. (Jeanne) Thompson, of Mendham, N.J.,
four brothers, Leonard E., of Memphis, Tenn., John R. and Evarist W. of Manitowoc
and Eugene M., of Two Rivers and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home where at 7:30 o’clock this Thursday evening
the Rosary will be recited by the parish and CMA members.

With intimate friends and relatives in attendance, a marriage ceremony was
performed Saturday morning by Rev. W.J. Luby at seven o'clock at the Sacred
Heart church when Dr. Viola Marie Bast, became the bride of Dr. Genebern John
McCully. A wedding breakfast followed the ceremony for the bridal party at
the Hotel Manitowoc. Both principals are well known in the city and have a
wide circle of friends. Dr. Viola Bast is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. L.
Bast of 514 Cleveland Ave. and has been affiliated with her father. Dr. McCully
is practicing dentistry at Valders and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ned McCully.
Dr. and Mrs. McCully left on a honeymoon trip and will be at home after August
1st at Valders.
Miss Louise Dederich of Racine was the bridesmaid and the groom was attended by
Alloy F. McCully. Among the out of town guests here for the wedding were Miss
Louise Dederich of Racine and Mr. and Mrs. John Bast of Sheboygan.
