FRED MEISNER (d. 1927)

STROKE FATAL TO F. MEISNER, TOWN NEWTON
Well Known Farmer Lives But Few Hours After He Suffers Attack
A stroke which he suffered at 11 o’clock Sunday morning at his home, one mile
west of English lake in the town of Newton, resulted in the death at 1:30 this
morning of Fred Meisner, a life long resident of the county. The stroke came
as Mr. Meisner was about the house and although medical aid was summoned soon
after it was only a question of hours until the end came.
No funeral arrangements have been completed, awaiting word from relatives in
the west, a son and a brother, but it was expected the service will be held
Friday afternoon at St. John’s Evangelical church at Fifteenth and Marshall
streets.
Died on Farm Where Born
Fred Meisner was born June 21, 1865 on the same farm where he died. It was at
the old farm home too where his marriage to Miss Lena Schmidt occurred thirty-
five years ago. The wife preceded her husband in death eight years ago and
surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Adolph Krueger, Newton and three sons,
Arnold at home, Hubert in California and Fred also at home, and two brothers,
Charles of Santa Rosa, California and Henry, 1511 South Tenth street, this city.
Mr. Meisner devoted his life to his farm and his home and was unaffiliated with
fraternal organizations. He was never active in politics.
