HERBERT C. MENGE

Herbert C. Menge, 60, of 938 North Tenth St., Manitowoc, an assistant chemist
at the Manitowoc Portland cement Company, died early Monday at the Veterans
Hospital, Wood, Wis. Death was due to a heart attack. He had been a patient
at the hospital for two weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. John Walker will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
cemetery, Manitowoc. There will be Masonic rites at the graveside.
Mr. Menge was born in Manitowoc in 1892, son of the late Mr. and Mr. William
Menge. He served in the Navy in World War I. In 1925 he married Miss Ethel
Hargraves. For the past 28 years he has been an assistant chemist at the
Portland Cement Company.
Survivors are his wife; two brothers, Walter and Edward of Manitowoc; two sisters,
Mrs. George Sanderson of Manitowoc and Mrs. Arthur Bradl of Portland, Ore.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
