LUCIA MARGARET LOOMIS MILES

DIED.
In this village, on Monday morning, June 4th, 1866, Mrs. LUCIA MARGARET
LOOMIS, wife of Mr. Guy Miles; aged 37 years.
When the solemn bell tolled forth the sad tidings of Mrs. Miles’ death,
how many who heard it will appreciate the extent of the fond husband’s
bereavement. The being of a noble wife, and two little children (links
from heaven) entwined themselves about the manly heart of the husband
and father. His little boy—the father’s peculiar joy and pride, was
sometime since drowned. But there was solace in the thought that his
wife and little daughter mourned with him. That little daughter has
since been called to her angel home among the stars. And now the mother,
leaving a large circle of mourning friends who loved her sterling
character and modest bearing, has gone to heaven to join her little
angels there. But little comfort can be given in such cases, but we
would point to the numerous friends of Mr. Miles’ little family and
assure him of their united sympathy, and as to the departed ones,
although lost on earth, he has three happy angels in heaven.
