Aurora Sanchez Miller, 82, a Manitowoc resident, died on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County.
Aurora was born on May 9, 1929, in Crystal City, Texas, daughter of the late Valente and Aurora (Gonzales) Sanchez. She was a graduate of Crystal City High School with the class of 1948. On Nov. 5, 1955, she married Christian Miller at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1993. Aurora was an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Agriculture at Lakeshore Technical College for 19 years and retired in 1994. She also attended Lakeshore Technical College and was a member of the Senior Center. Aurora enjoyed reading, music, walking and gardening. Love of God, family devotion and home were her priorities and she will forever be remembered for her warm and kind heart.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Marilyn Miller, Two Rivers; David and Lori Miller, Sarasota, Fla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Rose and Randall Frisch, Manitowoc; six grandchildren, John (Maria) Miller Jr., Tyson (Susan) Miller, Cahl Miller, Jacob Stuart, Tia Miller and Brandon Frisch; four great-grandchildren, Andrew Jaydin Miller, Olivia Miller, Oriana Miller and Olena Miller. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She is preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Miller; one grandson, Austin C. Frisch; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Diana and Carlos DelaRosa, Carmen Herrera and Gilbert Hererra, Eva and Manual Benavides.
Funeral Services will be held on at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo from 2 p.m. until the time of service 4 p.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Aurora Medical Center, Manitowoc County, and also to Dr. Kordiyak for their care and compassion shown to Aurora and her family.
