HERBERT G. MILLER

Herbert G. Miller, age 73, of 503 E. Magnolia Ave., Manitowoc, died early
Wednesday, December 27, 2000, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2000, at St. John's
Ev. Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Rev. David Scherbarth will officiate at the
service, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born January 23, 1927, in rural Manitowoc, son of the late Fardinand (sic)
and Edna Schultz Miller. He attended country school in rural Manitowoc. He was
first married to Helen M. Carrier in 1957. In the late 1960's he married the
former Catherine (Beth) Seidl. She preceded him in death February 14, 1995. On
October 5, 1996, he was married to Ruth (Boettcher) Mehlhorn at St. John's Lutheran
Church, Two Rivers. Hebert worked on the family farm for a number of years before
becoming employed at Eck Foundry in Manitowoc in the early 1960's. He retired from
Eck Foundry in 1989. Herb was Union Steward while at Eck and was also a former member
of the Two Rivers Eagles Club. He was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed polka dancing and
gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; one son, Tim Miller, Two Rivers and fiancée, Julie
Hynek; one step son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Andrea Seidl, Tyrone, Ga.; one
step daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Seidl Hemler and her husband, Barry,
Gaithersburg, Md.; 12 step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, brothers-
in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was
preceded in death by a step son, Allen Seidl and a sister, Florence miller.
Friends may call at St. John's Lutheran Church, Two Rivers after 9 a.m. on Friday,
until the time of service at 11 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
Memorials may be made to St. John's new School Fund.
The family extends a sincere thank you to members of Unified Ambulance for all
their efforts and also to the entire staff at Aurora Medical Center for the special
care and concern given to Herbert.
