Joseph H. Miller, age 88, of 3400 Yorkshire Lane, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, Jan. 19, 2003 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial service will be Deacon Robert Drobka with burial of the cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date. He was born Feb. 4, 1914, in Allentown, Pa., son of the late Harvey and Emma Beck Miller. Joseph was a veteran of the United States Army. On June 21, 1941, he married the former Violet Boehm in Dubuque, Iowa. Joseph was employed for 41 years with National Tinsel, retiring in 1978. He was a former member of the Eagles. Survivors include his wife: Violet Miller, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Joanne Miller, De Pere: a daughter and son-in-law: Jacqueline and Robert Stubbe, Manitowoc; two grandchildren: Ronald (Tracy) Miller, Chicago; Linda (Michael) Candella, Madison; two great-grandchildren: Drew and Bailey Miller, at home; three stepgrandchildren: Lisa Adams, James Stubbe and Kimberly Stubbe, all of Florida; and a sister-in-law: Jean Kornely and her husband, Frederick. Also surviving are nieces, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Alfred and Stanley; and four sisters: Jenny, Minny, Elsie and Gertrude. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. The family would like to thank the staff at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and North Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care given to Joseph and his family.
