DR. MITCHELL DIES AT HOME
Veterinary Surgeon Passes Away After Long Illness
Dr. Robert Stewart Mitchell, 72, a veterinary surgeon in Manitowoc
for 40 years, died at the home, 508 St. Clair street, Sunday evening.
Death followed a long illness.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. from the Wattawa,
Urbanek and Schlei funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
The services will be conducted by the Masonic order with which the
late Dr. Mitchell was affiliated. The Rev. C.H. Phipps will officiate.
The body will lie in state at the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral
home from tonight until the time of the services Tuesday.
Born in Scotland
Dr. Mitchell was born in Scotland on August 25, 1864. He came to
Chicago in 1894 and spent two years there. Then he moved to Manitowoc
where he has since practiced his profession.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Harris of Manitoba, Canada,
and Mrs. Isabell McCord of Toronto, Canada, one sister, Mrs. Margaret
McMasters of Stranraer, Scotland, six grandchildren and one great
grandchild. Mrs. Mitchell died about a year ago.

LEARNS OF MOTHER'S DEATH IN SCOTLAND
Letters and papers which he found awaiting him upon his return
from a month's sojourn in Florida, informed Dr. R.S. Mitchell
of the recent death of his mother, Mrs. Mitchell Bishop Terrance
at Rothesay, Scotland.
Mrs. Terraance (sic) was one of the oldest residents of the town
in which she made her home.
