JOHN E. ORDING (d. 2007)

John E. Ording Sr., age 81, of 1221 S. 17th St., Manitowoc, entered eternal life
on Monday morning, May 14, 2007, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.
John was born Jan. 12, 1926, in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late John P. and
Alvina Ullman Ording. John attended Lincoln High School and then entered the U.S.
Air Corps where he served for 26 months. After his honorable discharge he returned
to Manitowoc and became employed with Manitowoc Ship Building, and later with the
city of Manitowoc Police Department for 22 years, from where he retired in 1983. On
Feb. 14, 1954, he married Adelaide Antholz at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church
in Mishicot. John was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, where
he had served on the church council and the stewardship committee in past years.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Adelaide; three sons and daughters-in-law:
Peter and Grace Ording, Liberty; John A. and Nancy Ording, Newton; Mark and Verla
Ording, Santee, Calif.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Margaret and William Rodewald,
Manitowoc; Susan and James Tretow, Muskego; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grand-
children, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends surviving. He was
preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Eugene, Harvey, Edward, Elmer and
Alvin Ording; one sister: Adelaide Jergenson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2006, at First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1033 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc. The Rev. David Rosenow
will be officiating, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Relatives and friends may call at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church on Wednesday
(TODAY), from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
The family requests memorials be directed to First German Evangelical Lutheran Church
or the donor's choice.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, North 11th and St. Clair streets,
Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
A special thank you to (private) for giving us the extra years to
spend with him.
