August Rohrbach, 81, former resident of Manitowoc Rapids and currently a
resident of 1324 S. 21st St. where he lived for the past three years, died
unexpectedly Monday morning at home following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wesley Methodist Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Donald Stannard will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born Aug. 1, 1879, in the Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, son of
the late Martin and Bertha Glave Rohrbach. On March 1, 1905, he married the
former Emma Metzner in Brillion. The couple located on a farm in the Town
of Kossuth in 1908 and remained there until retirement in 1935 at which time
they moved to Manitowoc Rapids. His wife died in 1956.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Carl Felde of Manitowoc, Mrs. Sylvester
Karl of Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Allan Garren of Los Angeles, Calif.; two
sisters, Mrs. Dina Eggert of Rock Island, Ill., and Mrs. Annie Emmert of
Brillion; and seven grandchildren.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 3 p.m.
Wednesday until 10:30 a.m. Thursday when the casket will be moved to the church
where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
