OBITUARY
Mrs. Alois Schnorr, 97, of 1807 South Tenth street, Manitowoc, died Saturday at
the Holy Family hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at
the First German Evangelical Lutheran church, Manitowoc. The Rev. L.H. Koeninger
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. She was born Ida
Wellhoefer in Sheboygan in 1853 and in 1896 was married to Mr. Schnorr. They
located in Manitowoc, where Mr. Schnorr established an early day tannery and
later, with his brother, founded the Schnorr box factory on South Tenth street.
He died in 1933. Mrs. Schnorr was a member of the Lutheran congregation and the
oldest member of the Ladies aid society of the church. Survivors are three
stepdaughters, Mrs. Ella Uek and Mrs. W.C. Dicke of Manitowoc and Mrs. Oscar
Palmquist of Spokane, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. William Lubenow and Mrs. August
Stoeffregen of Sheboygan; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A
niece, Mrs. Walter Henning of Sheboygan, reared by the Schnorrs, also survives.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home, Manitowoc, until 10:30
a.m. Tuesday when the casket will be moved to the church to lie in state until
the hour of services.
