Raymond J. Staudt Sr., 81, of 814 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning,
December 9, at the family residence.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m.
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Zimmer will officiate
and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Staudt was born Jan. 15, 1899, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Michael
and Elizabeth Staudt. He married Bertha Swarts April 22, 1919, at Flintville, Wis.,
moving to Manitowoc after marriage and residing here since. Prior to Mr. Staudt's
retirement in 1968, he had been employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. as a
leader welder for 49 years. He was a member of Boilermakers Union Local 443, a 61
year member, charter member and Outside Guard of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie
706 and a charter member of Sea Gulls International.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha, six sons and five daughters-in-law, Donald and
Doris Staudt, Robert Staudt, Raymond Jr. and Marilyn Staudt, Leroy and Delores
Staudt and Wayne and Lavange Staudt of Manitowoc and Gerald and Marilyn Staudt of
Oak Lawn, Ill.; a daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and Orin Clasen of Manitowoc;
two sisters, Mrs. Serina Leist of Manitowoc and Mrs. Mabel Schuler of Sheboygan; a
sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Staudt of Manitowoc, 22 grandchildren and nine great grand-
children.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m to 9 p.m. Wednesday, where a Fraternal
Order of Eagles memorial service will be at 7 p.m. and a prayer service will be at
7:30 p.m. by family, relatives and friends.
