MRS. M. STAUSS, CITY PIONEER, PASSES AWAY
Dies at Chicago and Body Is Brought Here for Burial
Mrs. Henrietta Stauss, widow of Max Stauss, Sr., died at LakeView hospital Monday, following an operation which she underwent a short time ago. The body was brought to this city last night and the funeral will be held tomorrow, Wednesday morning from the home of her sister, Mrs. Hubert Falge, 701 Madison street, where the body now lies in state. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic church at 9 o'clock.
Born in this city, April 4, 1853, Mrs. Stauss who before her marriage was Henrietta Leverenz, was seventy-three years of age at her last birthday and had always lived in this city until 1910 when she moved to Chicago to make her home. She was married here to Max Stauss forty-seven years ago and her husband preceded her in death eight years ago. Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Alex Boehme of Chicago, and one son, Max Stauss, Jr., also of Chicago. A grandchild, one brother, Frank Leverenz of Tacoma, Washington, and two sisters, Mrs. Hubert Falge of this city and Mrs. F. Schenk of Milwaukee also survive her.
Mrs. Alex Boehme and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Max Stauss of Chicago arrived here last night with the body of Mrs. Stauss and Miss Pauline Schenk of Milwaukee is also here for the funeral.
