Mrs. Clara A. Streich, 81, of 1420 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Monday following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. John United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Streich, nee Clara Stelzer, was born Feb. 16, 1897, in Mishicot, daughter of the late John and Bertha Hartung Stelzer. She resided in Manitowoc all her life and was married to Harry E. Stelzer June 2, 1921, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death Dec. 29, 1966. She was a charter member of Veterans Of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Germaine and Mason Ashford and Charlotte and Harold Vallesky, and a daughter, Mrs. Ione Larson of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Eda Beck of West Allis, eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A daughter, Marjorie, a grandchild, two sons-in-law, James Moldenhauer and Rueben Larson, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call in Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m Wednesday. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, where the body will lie in state until the time of service. Memorials in Mrs. Streich's name may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Center.
