Mrs. Lydia R. Tewel, 90, formerly of 1318 S. 12th St., Manitowoc and now of
Shady Lane Home, died Wednesday evening, January 10, 1990 at Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Tewel was born November 16, 1899 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Herman
and Bertha Rosso Wilke. She was educated at First German Lutheran School. She
married Raymond S. Tewel, June 14, 1920 at Manitowoc. Raymond preceded her in
death May 2, 1972.
Mrs. Tewel was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Woody Stangel,
Marion and Gerald Olson, Beverly and Joe Knipp of Manitowoc; a sister-in-law,
Mrs. Rose Wilke of Manitowoc; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, and a brother.
Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at First Lutheran Church. Rev. Bruce
Hanstedt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at First Lutheran Church, after 10 am Saturday until the hour
of service. Memorials to First Lutheran Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
