Mrs. Esther Schnell Wagner, 71, a resident of Park View Haven Apartments, Manitowoc, died Monday evening, Dec. 10, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Larry Ellenberger will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Wagner, nee Esther M. Larson, was born Dec. 30, 1907, in the Town of Cato, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late John K. and Ragnild Throndson Larson. She was a graduate of Valders High School and Manitowoc County Normal School. She was married to Walter W. Schnell Nov. 26, 1928, in Gjerpen Church. The couple owned and operated a farm in the Town of Liberty. He preceded her in death June 21, 1964. She was then married to Walter Wagner Nov. 18, 1967, at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death July 19, 1975. Mrs. Wagner was a teacher in Manitowoc County for a number of years. She was employed at the Manitowoc Health Care Center.
Survivors include a step son, Eli Wagner of Milton, Pennsyl.; nieces, nephews, three step grandchildren and a step great grandson. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Kenneth, and two sisters, Alice and Ruth.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and until 11:30 a.m. Thursday and at the church from noon until the time of services.
