PIONEER IS DEAD AT AGE OF 84 YEARS
Mrs. Fredericke, widow of John Wahlers, who preceded her in death about twenty
years ago, passed away last night at her home on North Eighth Street, near the
city limits, at the age of 84 years, the infirmities of old age bringing about
the demise.
The deceased was born in Mecklenberg, Germany on January 25, 1829 and came to
this county in the early 50's, locating in this city. She had been married twice
and leaves five children by her first husband. They are Mrs. Julius Sohrweide
and Miss Emma Brockmann of this city, Fred Brockmann at St.Paul, Minn., Henry
Brockmann at Athabaska Landing, Canada and Chas. Broeckmann residing at Shawano,
Wis. Besides these seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive her.
The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Germany Lutheran
church, Rev. Machmiller officiating. She had been a member of the Lutheran
congregation of this city for fifty-five years.
