He was born July 4, 1939 in Terre Haute, IN to Frank S. and Clara Jane (Starr) Burton. David worked as a Captain for the OKC Fire Dept. from 1965 to 1981 before retiring due to his health. He was a contracted instructor at OSU in Stillwater as a Fire Training Instructor and also helped establish the Volunteer Fire Dept. in Newalla.
David was a loving husband, brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 infant sisters. He leaves memories with his wife, Ruth of the home; brother, Paul W. Burton and his wife Melva of Moore; nephew, Bill F. Burton and wife Melissa of Moore; and many inlaws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
