Jack D. Elkins Jr. died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in Hurst, Texas. The family will meet with friends to celebrate Jack’s life at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, at the VFW Post in Derby.
He was born Aug. 27, 1944 in Liberal to Jack D. Sr. and Clara L Watson Elkins. He graduated from Derby High School in 1962.
Jack is survived by his mother, Clara, of Emporia; brother, Brad Elkins of Emporia; sister, Karlene Landowski of Lawrence; one nephew; three nieces; three great-nephews; many lifelong friends from Derby and Wichita.
He was preceded in death by his father.
