Stewart James Allen was the third child of Frank Allen and Victoria Stewart. He served with the Canadian military in both World War I (lying about his age in order to sign up) and WW II, and worked for DeHavilland Aircraft in Toronto. He married Ruth Fortier in 1928, and they had three children. The couple moved to Lakefield, Ontario in retirement to be near their cottage on Stoney Lake.
