Funeral services for Mrs. R. G. Cone, 80, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Phillips & Luckey Chapel with burial in the Minerva Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Evans, of Mt Zion Church officiated. Mrs. Cone died at 7:45 a.m. Monday in the local hospital where she had been for 10 days. She had been in failing health for several weeks.

She had been a resident of the Mt. Zion community near Rockdale for 71 years. She was born Feb. 28, 1890, in Alabama, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Dyer. She and R. G. Cone were married near Rockdale in 1911. Mr cone died in 1960. Mrs. Cone had been a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 60 years.

Surviving are seven sons, Bernard Ray Cone of Rockdale, Henry Cone of Rockdale, Conway Cone of Rockdale, William T. Cone of Charleston, SC, Willard L. Cone of Pettit, Roger B. Cone of Temple, and Emmitt L. Cone of Temple; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Dyer of Rockdale and Mrs. Lucille Sutton of Tallahassee, FL; a brother Jack Dyer of Rockdale; a sister, Mrs. W. A. Nunley of Rockdale. There are also 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Pall bearers were her sons, Roger B., Emmitt L., Willard L., William T., Bernard Ray, and Conway Cone.
