ERDA, UT. - Henry I. Watson, Jr., age 79, died July 1, 2001 at his home.

He was born Dec. 7, 1921 in Bonair, Georgia to Henry I. Watson, Sr. and Annie Pearl Speights. He married Orris Jensen Dec. 7, 1945 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on Dec. 7, 1948. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Army during World War II. Henry loved fishing, raising animals, and spending time with his family. He served 42 years in Government service.

He is survived by his wife Orris, Erda; daughter, Sophie Nix of Tooele; sons, Joseph Watson (Jan), Orem, UT.; and Fred Watson (Eileene) of West Valley City; one brother and two sisters in Georgia; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grand-children and 12 great-great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Cameron Nix.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 5, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the Erda Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Tate Mortuary 110 So. Main St. on Wednesday July 4th from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Interment in the Tooele City Cemetery.
