Mrs. Minnie (Sweat) Pierce, 94, of Speedwell, (Well Springs Community) died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday at LaFollette Community Hospital.
She was a long time member of the Well Springs Methodist Church and a Civil War widow.
She is survived by two daughters, Miss Irene Pierce and Mrs. Myrtle Elliott of Well Springs; one sister, Mrs. Grace Bowman of Speedwell; three grandchildren, Mrs. Taft (Dorothy) Hutchison of Knoxville, Mrs. Anna White and Eskel Elliott of Speedwell; two great-grandchildren, Charles and Carl Elliott of Lebanon, Tennessee.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Roach Mortuary Chapel by the Rev. George M. Dew and the Rev. Darrell Ross. Burial was in Well Springs Cemetery. Roach Mortuary, LaFollette, was in charge of arrangements.
