This may have been the Catherine Allen, who was living with the John & Mary Bowlby family in the 1850 Falls, Hocking Co., OH census. If so, that census says that she was born in NJ. According to a tree on Ancestry.com, Mary's maiden name was Allen. That tree says that John Bowlby d. 1896 in Union Furnace, Hocking Co., OH and Mary Ann (Allen) Bowlby d. 1885 in Union Furnace, but it doesn't indicate where they were buried or anything about Mary's parents.
