Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 2pmCT, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
He was born January 30, 1935, in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Nannie Skaggs Powell and the late Otis Powell. He died Sunday, August 12, 2012, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 77 years, 6 months, and 13 days.
He was a truck driver.
He is survived by the following:
One son: Harold Powell, Monticello, KY.
One daughter: Kathy Wilson, Russell Springs, KY.
Four grandchildren: Jef (Brooke) Wilson, Terry Wilson, and Wayne (Kelly) Powell, all of Russell Springs, KY; and Zackery Powell, Somerset, KY.
Three great grandchildren: Cody, William, and Rylee Wilson.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: Delmane, Charles, Joe, Clarence and Phillip Powell, and two sisters, Mary Beagle and Geneva Ruth Lyles.
